Experience

Paul has been continuously engaged in the public accounting profession in Alaska since 1978.  He has extensive experience in directing tax, audit, accounting, and consulting engagements across the full spectrum of our firm's clients.  He has also served as President of the Alaska Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Interest

Paul enjoys working in youth ministries with his local Church.  He also enjoys playing basketball and watching sporting events of all kinds.  He and his wife Denise also likes to camp in their motorhome across Alaska.  They both also enjoy traveling to warm weather destinations such as Arizona and Hawaii.

Experience

Alec has been engaged in public accounting profession since 2013. He began his career with a nationwide accounting firm in Duluth, Minnesota where he spent 5 years working on an assurance services team specializing in the audits of  tribal gaming, real estate, hospitality, employee benefit plans, and not for profit clients. Alec decided to leave Minnesota for Alaska in the summer of 2019 and joined The Brandon Skinner Group in September of 2019.  He was admitted as a stockholder on January 1, 2022.

Interests

Alec is an avid fisherman and outdoorsmen who is looking forward to exploring all of the outdoor opportunities available in the great state of Alaska. When he is not enjoying the outdoors, Alec enjoys cheering on the Minnesota Golden Gophers and watching or playing hockey.

Experience

Carol has been engaged in the public accounting profession in Alaska since 1987.  Her prior experience consists of nearly seven years as a controller of an Alaska-based construction company, before transferring those skills into the broader public accounting area.  Carol has extensive experience in directing audit, accounting and consulting engagements.  After a long and distinguished career, Carol retired from our Firm on December 31, 2022 and will be greatly missed.

Experience

Barry has been working in the accounting profession in Alaska and overseas since 1981.  He started his career with Johnson & Morgan, CPAs and since then, he has worked for national and local CPA Firms, as well with two Alaskan construction companies.  Barry joined The Brandon Skinner Group in January 2020 and specializes in Business and Individual Taxation.

 Interests

 Barry and his wife, Teri, like to spend time outdoors hiking, fat tire biking, and fishing.  Barry also serves on the Board of a local Christian school.

Experience

Glen has been engaged in the public accounting profession in Alaska since 2016. He started in public accounting with a national CPA firm and then moved to The Brandon Skinner Group in January of 2019. Glen has experience auditing governmental, not for profit, and for profit entities as well as preparing individual and business tax returns.

Glen enjoys spending his free time enjoying the Alaskan outdoors with his dog, as well as traveling down to the lower 48 throughout the year.

Experience

Emerald began her career in the public accounting profession with a tax internship in January 2020.  She has experience in cost accounting as well as tax preparation.  She began employment with our firm in September 2020.

Experience

Vita began her career in the public accounting profession with our firm in February 2022.  Prior to her employment with our firm, Vita had experience with bookkeeping and general management of an engineering firm.

Vita enjoys spending most of her available time outside, be it hiking, backpacking, or fatbiking on the trails.

Experience

Thomas began his career in the public accounting profession with our firm in January 2024. Prior to his employment with our firm, Thomas served four years in the Marine Corps as a Mortarman.

Thomas enjoys spending his free time outside kayaking, paddle boarding, and going to the gym.

Responsibilities

Romina handles client contact and information transmittal and oversees the assembly and delivery of all client tax returns.  As Office Manager, she is key to our high operational efficiency and is dedicated to supporting the overall goals of the firm.  Her attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and cheerful attitude make her a valuable asset to our team.  She has been with our firm since July 2016.

Responsibilities

Dana ensures that our client financial statements are of the highest quality.  She is also responsible for making certain that all outgoing correspondence meets our expectations for excellence.  Her quality control standards contribute significantly to our firm's excellent top-of-tier industry peer reviews.  She has been with our firm since 1993.

Responsibilities

Kennedy is a reliable office assistant and excels at answering calls with a friendly and professional demeanor. She provides essential support to the office by handling basic administrative duties such as answering the phones and forwarding calls to the appropriate staff member, maintaining office supplies, and scanning firm and client files. Kennedy has been with our firm since May 2024.
